Club Activities
Charter Boat – Deep Sea
Every second month, we schedule a Charter Boat Trip, normally on Saturday and commencing about 6:00AM at the Wharf, for a days deep-sea fishing.
We are currently using two different boats and locations and crew numbers may vary from 10 to 20, depending on the boat. We usually have a productive days fishing (weather & current permitting) catching among others, Flathead, Morwong, Pigfish, Trevally and the occasional Snapper.
We usually fish with fixed winches and 1lb sinkers (bottom bashing) and are are back at the wharf at around 2:00PM.
The Club subsidises every trip and a NSW Recreational Fishing Licence is not required for charter boat fishing.
Trips are posted on the Notice board in the club about 4 weeks in advance of each trip.
Small Boats Deep Sea
This is an active division open to all boat-owners , regularly fishing on the first Sunday of each month, with a weigh-in and free sausage-sizzle, back at the ramp between 1.30 and 2PM.
Trips are run out of Sydney, Terrigal, Broken-Bay, Swansea and Port Stephens and some mid-week trips are also organised.
Finding good crew is never a problem and the club sponsors radio coverage for boat owners through Sydney Coast Guard.
River & Estuary
This division fishes the plentiful Rivers & Estuaries which abound around Sydney. Locations and dates of these trips vary, as they are set around the moon and tides, but regular features are Jewfish nights, Hairtail nights and week-end Bream and Flathead fishing trips in the Hawkesbury river.
Freshwater Angling
With an experienced Freshwater angler as Captain of this division we have many successfull trips each year including week-end family trips. Fishing for Bass, Trout , Perch and other species , featuring both on-water and land-based fishing. Many members have been introduced to Freshwater fishing through this division and all trips are well attended.
Rock & Beach Fishing
It’s hard to fit all the fishing activities into a month, but we now have an ethusiastic captain and assistant for this division, and with the excellent beaches within close proximity of our club, we now see some very good trips in this division and it is an ideal way to have a nice family outing on the beach especially when the fish are on the bite.
Social Activities
Apart from our Fisho’s raffle which we run almost every Friday night, we run at least one social activity every quarter, these include our Annual Presentation Day, a Christmas Function, as well as frequent Dinner evenings in the Club. These are always popular and well attended and are a great way for all the families to get to know each other.
